The Space

Anura Vineyards. The Cooperage. Our artisanal event space.  An architectural masterpiece of space and light, with its contemporary industrial style finishes, comprising of stone, concrete, steel and rare African wood, encompassing 360 degree views of the Simonsberg mountain range, vineyards and water.  As the name suggests, much like the work of a barrel cooper, The Cooperage is our hand-crated, artisanal event space. The Cooperage has the ability to transform to your needs, whatever your event design may be.

Capacity:

The Cooperage has been designed in such a way as to accommodate anything from 40 to 300 guests seated, or conservatively, up to 850 guests cocktail style, without compromising atmosphere, acoustics or use of space. By using our design-complimented screens, make use of as much space, or as little space as your event requires.

The lawns surrounding The Cooperage are able to accommodate extensive temporary structures, should you require space for a very large event or festival.  Anura Vineyards has parking capacity for up to 1500 vehicles at a time.

Coopers Bar and Deck

Included in the venue is Cooper’s Bar – an elegant, suave and charismatic bar. Unique elements, such as wine barrels suspended from the ceiling, raw copper finishes and exposed light bulbs, makes this space ideal to use as is, no décor required, for more intimate events. Coopers Bar can accommodate 50 guests seated or 80 – 100 cocktail style, and extends onto the expansive deck of The Cooperage. Coopers bar can also be used with separation from the main event space.

The expansive deck, extending over the dam, is protected from the elements by a stretch tent. This space can be hired independently, or used with Coopers Bar or The Cooperage.

Facilities:

The Cooperage contains state-of-the-art restroom facilities with the capacity to accommodate 850 guests. The venue also offers a separate bridal change room and restroom, as well as wheel chair friendly restrooms.  The Cooperage contains an industrial style semi-equipped kitchen for outsourced catering, walk in refrigeration, back access for service providers and staff restrooms.

Ample parking close to the venue is available as well as a front door drop-and-go area, for valet parking or for car launch displays.  The front door of the venue is able to accommodate vehicle access. The Cooperage is well suited for car launches, with the ability to showcase up to 18 vehicles inside the venue.
